Religious
and Charitable Law
Religious,
charitable and non-profit organizations face many of the same legal situations
as for-profit businesses, but they also have special requirements. Berman,
Bourns, Aaron & Dembo has represented religious, charitable and other
non-profit groups for many years and offers client organizations in-depth
understanding of their unique needs.
Our firm
has incorporated many churches in Connecticut and has assisted boards,
clergy members and other responsible parties in understanding their rights
and duties as corporate citizens of Connecticut.
John Berman
has gathered expertise in this field by serving as a counselor to numerous
religious organizations, clergy members and other non-profit institutions.
He is presently on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Council for
Philanthropy and is President of the Watkinson Prisoners Aid Society.
Many of
our attorneys are actively involved with local community organizations.
This gives us insight into the nature of non-profit operations that allows
us to provide proper guidance as both routine and unforeseen legal issues
arise.
