Berman, Bourns, Aaron & Dembo has a tradition of providing alternative dispute resolution and mediation services to those who wish to resolve their issues issues privately and outside of the adversarial system.

We believe that parties are often best served by entering into a mediation process that can deliver balanced and effective results with less expenditure of time, energy, and money.

Courtney Bourns devotes his practice exclusively to family law mediation.
Barbara Aaron is also extensively involved with family law mediation and collaborative divorce. Barbara has trained other professionals, including attorneys and therapists, in the use of mediation and alternative dispute resolution procedures.
John Berman mediates a variety of civil matters including personal injury, family, probate, and estate cases.

As experienced mediators, we have the skills necessary to encourage parties to:

communicate effectively
uncover relevant issues
seek outcomes that reflect the needs of both parties
give participants a degree of control over the process that is often lost in the court system

We have found that even in situations where there is a high degree of conflict and stress, alternative dispute resolution can result in a "kinder, gentler and more creative" resolution of issues. More often then not, mediation allows both parties to emerge from the process with a sense well being and with their dignity and self respect intact.
